If you own a retail store and wish to increase your sales in your area, selling online is the next thing you should be thinking about. There are multiple ways to create an online retail store. You can either create your e-commerce store and market your products or start selling on a ready-to-go marketplace like Amazon. Here is how to sell on Amazon:
Start with visiting the Amazon seller page, https://sell.amazon.in/. Click on Start Selling and Login if you are an existing user or Create a New Account. You will be required to provide information about you, your business and your products. After you have entered the information and registered, Amazon support will verify these details.
In the verification process, you will have to share the following details:
• Phone Number
• Email ID
• Business address to be used as a pickup address
• Product categories
• Documents for registering your business
• Documents for registering tax information
Step 1: Phone Verification
After you have logged in, verify your phone number with the given OTP.
Step 2: Seller Information
Select your product category and enter the business address. After you click submit, you will get multiple options like receiving WhatsApp notifications, verification of your pin code for the Amazon Easy ship facility and an alternative business address.
Step 3: Account Verification
Here, you will be re-directed to a 2-step verification page. After you complete this and click continue, you will see a ‘Legacy device sign-in method’. Add the OTP and continue.
Step 4: Tax Details
Select your tax category. You can choose if you fall under the GST category, are exempted from GST, haven’t registered for GST, etc.
Step 5: Seller Dashboard
This is the final step where you can list your products, adjust shipping fee, update bank account details, enter tax details, calculate the tax on your products by Seller Central Account tax calculation system and add your digital signature. After adding these details, click Confirm.
